Web-site improved

Our web site has changed! After some time, most of the information contained in our web pages has been updated and improved. Now, our web site has a new design, and it tries to improve some parts of the ancient one, as the archives, with new specific sections for documents, policies of the European institutions or press releases, among new photos of the Transylvania Community College or of the Visions of Europe Conference. Just go to www.acc.eu.org and look around.

Macedonia Community College Postponed

We regret to say that the actual political situation in the FYR of Macedonia force us to postpone the Macedonian Community College - Conference "Violence Against Women - An Universal European Issue" that was going to be held in Skopje in September. Our board member Mjellma Mehmeti has told us that, if the situation improves, the conference will be held on December.

ACC presented in the Minority Course 2001

The participants of the Minority Course 2001, that took place in Aabenraa (Denmark) since the 23rd of July till the 11th of August had the chance to participate in the ACC Day, one session where some members of the ACC had the chance to present their organization to the participants of this edition of the course. Last Monday, 6th of August, our chairman, John Petersen, started the day with a lecture about active citizenship, that was continued later by a short presentation of the ACC in charge of our EVS volunteer in the ACC Office, Rubén Marcos. After lunch, the ACC day continued with a workshop prepared by John Petersen and Mjellma Mehmeti, where the participants had the chance to think and discuss about the situation of the Community Colleges in Europe.

Ask for the ACC Powerpoint presentation

During the ACC day in the Minority Course took place the first exhibition of one of the Powerpoint presentations the Office has prepared to introduce our association. We made two different presentations, thinking in future courses, seminars or presentations to different audiences. The one showed in Aabenraa for the first time is an informal one, perfect for groups of young people. The other one, created by our member Palma Somay, is more formal, serious and professional, and it´s recommended for serious meetings or presentations that require a very formal way. You can ask us for both of them if you need them to introduce the ACC to other groups or just if you want to have a look. Mail us to office@acc.eu.org and, as soon as possible, we will send you back the files.

ACC - AWE Collaboration

The ACC is creating new links with external institutions that could help us in our idea of the establishment of Community Colleges all around Europe. As a member of the AWE (Association for World Education) we are continuing our collaboration with that umbrella organizations, that we have to remember that has a consultive status in the United Nations. In the last issue of the Journal of World Education, magazine of the AWE, Linda Jakobsone, member of our board, introduce the ACC to the other members of the organization with a quite interesting article where she explains our objectives and our history.
